This stainless steel counterweight rod is built to help balance equatorial mounts during long exposure astrophotography. It features an M16 threaded end to ensure a secure connection to the mount head. The 164mm length provides enough space to slide weights along the shaft for precise center-of-gravity adjustments.
The use of stainless steel helps prevent rust and corrosion when the gear is exposed to damp night air. This material choice also ensures the bar remains rigid under the weight of heavy counterweights. It is a practical replacement or extension for astronomers who need to stabilize their telescope tracking systems.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the standard threading which fits many common equatorial mount models. By achieving better balance, the mount motors experience less strain, leading to smoother tracking of stars and planets. This part is a reliable addition for anyone looking to improve their telescope's mechanical performance.
